The two Japanese auto giants, Toyota and Mazda, are entering into partnership to make
cars better. The partnership was announced this week.
The
president of Toyota, Akio Toyoda, is quoted as saying "The main purpose of
this initiative is to enhance the appeal of our cars," He further
confirmed that Mazda’s license of Toyota’s hybrid tech and assembly of cars for
Toyota in Mexico encouraged both automakers to seek areas of further
partnership.
Both
companies are setting up a joint committee to seek areas of cooperation. Some of
the problems this partnership seeks to tackle are safety and the environment.
Both companies confirmed that the agreement will go beyond the traditional
framework of cooperation with the potential to culminate into a long term
partnership.
