Jaguar Shows Off the New XF Sedan Ahead of New York Auto Show

Jaguar premieres the next-generation XF sedan at the New York auto show on April 1. The new midsize sports sedan will be the second vehicle from the British marque to use Jaguar Land Rover's new aluminum architecture.

Jaguar will reveal the exterior and interior of the new XF sedan on 24th March, prior to its appearance at the New York auto show a week later.
The Jaguar XF which is the current-generation has been on sale since 2007 and favorably competes with the BMW 5-series, the Audi A6, and the Mercedes-Benz E-class. The current Jaguar XF is offered with a choice of three engines, ranging from a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four producing 240 hp, to the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 good for 470 hp.

Jaguar released a single photo of the exterior which shows a coupe-like profile for the upcoming sedan, which is also expected to be larger than the outgoing model. The new XF is also expected to adopt a family look that will take cues from the smaller XE sedan, making the Jaguar lineup more recognizable. Jaguar is also reportedly seeking to spread the range out, distancing the small XE from the XF and the XJ, in order to gain some scaling when it comes to marketing the models.
