The new Cayenne S E-Hybrid Is A Perfect Ride For The Techy

The world is turning ever faster. So it's good if you can keep up and even better if you are one step ahead with the intelligent plug-in hybrid concept of the new Cayenne S E-Hybrid. And the matching control center, which even fits into your pocket: Porsche Car Connect, the app for your smartphone.

It offers a host of useful options for you and your Cayenne S E-Hybrid. These include Remote Services, which allow you to access vehicle information remotely and also control selected functions. Porsche Vehicle Tracking Services help you to protect your Porsche against theft and then find it again if the worst happens. E-Mobility Services offer information and options that are especially tailored to your hybrid vehicle.

Performance
We are moving into the future in a progressive and dynamic way. A specially defined pressure point on the accelerator pedal signals the switch between all-electric mode to driving powered by the combustion engine. The combustion engine is fired up when necessary or when the accelerator is depressed beyond the pressure point.
The electric motor provides an additional boost. In coasting mode, the combustion engine is decoupled and switched off, allowing the Cayenne S E-Hybrid to glide for some distance under its own momentum – for a significant reduction in fuel consumption without any compromise in terms of sports performance.

Recuperative braking system
E-Charge and E-Power buttons
3.0-liter V6 supercharged engine
Electric machine: 95 hp/combustion engine: 333 hp
Combined output of 416 hp at 5500 rpm
Maximum torque (plug-in hybrid): 435 lb.-ft. between 1250 and 4000 rpm
Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph: 5.4 seconds
Top speed: 151 mph, all-electric: 78 mph
Typical electric range during every day driving: TBD
 8-speed Tiptronic S

Thanks to a particularly wide ratio spread, the 8-speed Tiptronic S lowers fuel consumption – and increases comfort and dynamic agility. The low engine speeds in the higher gears reduce the noise level inside the vehicle. The 8-speed Tiptronic S shifts gear automatically and adapts to your individual driving style.
New features include the extended auto start/stop function. This cuts the engine not only when the vehicle stops, but also if you are approaching traffic lights.
Porsche Traction Management (PTM)
PTM comprises of an active all-wheel drive system with an electronically variable, map-controlled multi-plate clutch, automatic brake differential (ABD) and anti-slip regulation (ASR).
The electronically controlled multi-plate clutch helps to ensure optimum distribution of force between the permanently driven rear axle and the front axle. The driving conditions are continuously monitored to enable the system to respond to a variety of situations. During cornering, the required level of engine torque is distributed to the front wheels to provide excellent lateral stability. The result: perfect distribution of drive torque at all times.
PTM on the Cayenne Diesel and Cayenne S E-Hybrid features a permanent all-wheel drive system with self-locking center differential. This provides a standard torque split of 60% to the rear and 40% to the front. If one of the wheels is about to lose grip, the self-locking center differential transmits the torque to the axle offering the highest level of traction. Variable distribution of engine torque to the rear wheels also enhances steering precision and driving dynamics.
Interior design

When you take to the wheel of a Porsche, you are not just a driver; you are part of something bigger, part of an overall concept, an idea, one that has its roots in motor racing. This is where we learned how important it is to bring the car and driver together as closely as possible. That’s why the interior of the Cayenne is virtually built around you. Everything you need is within easy reach, practical and exclusively designed to suit your needs.
A typical sports car feature, the rising center console reduces the distance between the steering wheel and the most important vehicle controls. The new multifunction sports steering wheel also speaks the language of motorsport. Derived from the 918 Spyder super sports car, it is a harmonious blend of high-level ergonomics and pioneering styling.
However, the Cayenne concept goes beyond pure sports performance. It also offers comfort, variability and style. Every individual detail serves to enhance the overall impression. This is our proven design concept. Giving you scope for great emotions.
