"…The
Nissan Rogue is a compact crossover that delivers a practical, well-trimmed
interior, excellent fuel economy and a host of useful gadgets. It also offers
an optional third row seat, a feature normally only found in larger, more
expensive models." – Left Lane News
Competing
against big-name contenders in the compact crossover utility vehicle segment
like the Ford Escape, Honda CR-V and Hyundai Tucson, the 2015 Nissan Rogue is
the company's compact SUV offering. See more images after the cut.
The
2015 Nissan Rogue's 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine is standard across all trims.
This engine has 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque and offers fuel economy
figures of 26 MPG city and 33 MPG highway in front-wheel drive models and, 25
MPG city and 32 MPG highway on all-wheel drive models. That's more than 2 MPG
better than the 2015 Toyota RAV4, and 1 MPG better than the Subaru Forester and
Ford Escape. The "Eco" mode helps the wheeler achieve its best fuel
economy by optimizing key vehicle systems.
The
redesigned Rogue also received Nissan's latest safety systems including Around
View Monitor (AVM), which provides a virtual 360-degree view around the SUV's
surroundings, along with Moving Object Detection (MOD). The latter system gives
the driver visual and audible warnings if the system detects moving objects
when pulling out of parking spaces. In addition, the Rogue offers a forward
collision warning system, a lane departure warning system, and a blind spot
detection system.
Staying
with safety features, the 2015 model also offers Nissan Advanced Air Bag System
(AABS) with dual-stage supplemental air bags for the front seat passengers,
side impact supplemental air bags integrated into the front seats, as well as
side-curtain air bags that feature a rollover sensor.
Characteristics
of the exterior include halogen headlamps with standard LED daytime running
lights encapsulated inside aggressive headlights. Standard fog lights are basic
on the SL model and optional on the SV. Roof rails and a rear spoiler provide a
dynamic and agile look to the Rogue.
The
2015 Nissan Rogue SV features 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with all-season low
rolling resistance tires. The upgraded SL trim comes with 18-inch wheels. Base
2015 Nissan Rogue S models come with 17-inch steel wheels. The Rogue is
available in eight colors.
The
Rogue's center console is neatly organized. The standard 5-inch color display
comes with SiriusXM satellite radio, and a USB connection. It can also stream
audio via Bluetooth. The SV Premium Package offers a 7-inch full-color display
and "NissanConnect with Navigation and Mobile Apps."
